MWC 2023: Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro Global versions announced!

The two high-end smartphones were announced back in December 2022 for the Chinese market. This time, it will be for Global consumers.

Xiaomi 13 Series Global Editions launched!

Starting with the higher variant called Xiaomi 13 Pro. It comes with a back cover choice of either faux leather or ceramic material both with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Meanwhile, the Mountain Blue color variant has an added nano-tech material which makes it resistant to photodegradation and peeling white keeping it soft and nice to the touch with fine texture. Other color choices are Ceramic White, Black, or Flora Green.

The display has a 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED with 120Hz variable refresh rate, 1920Hz DC dimming, ambient color temperature sensor, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, QHD+ 3200 x 1440 resolution, and an In-Display fingerprint reader.

Inside, it uses the latest 4nm 3.2GHz SD8G2 octa-core processor with New Adreno GPU, 8GB or 12GB LPDDR5X RAM, up to 512GB UFS 4.0 storage (128GB variant has UFS 3.1 only), 4820mAh battery size with USB-C120W fast charging, 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.

Xiaomi also added the Surge G1 and P1 chips as a safety protocol from the fast charger.

For cameras, it has the Leica-tuned setup featuring a triple 50MP sensor. The first 50MP  is a massive 1-inch Sony IMX989 f/1.9, 1.6µm pixel size, Hyper OIS tech + 50MP f/2.2 14mm 115-degree ultra-wide snapper with 10cm focusing distance + 50MP f/2.0 75mm 3x telephoto zoom camera while the selfies have 32MP sensor.

The rest are Dolby Atmos-tuned stereo speakers with head tracking feature, Hi-Res Audio, IR Blaster, WiFi 6E, 5G SA/NSA, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS (L1 + L5), NavIC, and dual SIM slots.

Moving forward, the lower variant is called the Xiaomi 13. This time, it is marketed as a slim and compact device but still packs beefy internals.

It comes with similar materials used on the rear cover with ceramic (Black, White, Green) or faux leather (Blue).

The display is smaller at a 6.36-inch E6 AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, Dolby Vision, 20:9 aspect ratio, HDR 10+, and 1,900 nits peak brightness.

It contains a similar processor SD8G2 with New Adreno GPU coupled with 8GB or 12GB LPDDR5X RAM, 128GB,256GB, or 512GB UFS 4.0 storage, 4,500mAh battery with USB-C 67W fast charging, 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless.

For cameras, the phone has 50MP f/1.9 Sony IMX800 Hyper OIS, 12MP f/2.2 120-degree ultra-wide sensor, 10MP f/2.0 3.2x telephoto zoom with OIS, and a 32MP f/2.0  selfie shooter.

Other features noted are Dolby Atmos stereo speakers with Dolby tracking, an IR blaster, IP68 rating for water and dust protection.

Connectivity-wise it has 5G, 4G LTE, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, and dual SIM support.

Both smartphones get Android 13 with MIUI 14 skin on top.


Euro price with direct to PHP conversion (no taxes and duties yet):

Xiaomi 13 - starts at EUR 999 (around PHP 57.8K)
Xiaomi 13 Pro - starts at EUR 1,299 (around PHP 75.2K)

The devices are now available for pre-order in Europe and the sale begins on March 8 as per the MWC announcement. Meanwhile, the PH availability and price are still unknown but they may arrive soon as well.
