After its initial release in Malaysia, the device silently arrived in the Philippines with a fairly attractive PHP 14,999 price tag.

To recap, the OPPO A78 5G features a boxy back cover design available in Glowing Purple and Glowing Black colorways. This has an eye-catching finish with a two-tone design as well as an IPX4 rating to somehow protect the device from water splashes.

In front, it uses a 6.56-inch LCD panel with Panda glass protection, 90Hz refresh rate, HD+ resolution, and a notch housing the 8MP selfie camera.

Inside, it is powered by the 7nm MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G octa-core processor with Mali-G57 MC2 (950MHz) GPU which is fast enough to run most of the basic apps and even some "demanding" mobile games at low or medium settings. 

It is paired with 8GB RAM, up to 8GB RAM expansion via software (for a total of up to 16GB RAM), 128GB expandable internal storage via a microSD card slot, 5,000mAh big battery capacity with up to 7.55 hours of gaming, and USB-C 33W SUPERVOOC fast charging that can charge the device to 52 percent in 30 minutes and 100 percent in 67 minutes.
