Garmin Instinct 2X Solar now in PH—For the most challenging environments for as low as PHP 28K

Garmin just launched its latest line of smartwatches in the Philippines—the Instinct 2X Solar and Instinct 2X Solar - Tactical Edition.

The new products were built to US military standards for thermal shock, water resistance, and shock. These were also water-rated up to 10 ATM1 and feature a chemically strengthened, scratch-resistant Power Glass lens. It has a 0.9-inch screen size with a 176 x 176 resolution.

Aside from this, Instinct 2X Solar's lens produces 50 percent more energy than the standard Instinct 2 solar watch. It also has a solar charging feature that allows for unlimited battery life in smartwatch mode. This is assuming all-day wear with 3 hours per day outside in 50,000-lux conditions.

In case solar charging is unavailable, there are other modes like the Expedition GPS Activity Mode that allows for 60 days of battery life, while the Battery Saver Watch Mode extends battery life to as much as 100 days.

Also, even without solar charging, Instinct 2X Solar can run up to 40 days of battery life in Smartwatch Mode.

Another feature of Instinct 2X Solar is the integrated LED flashlight with variable intensities.

Instinct 2X Solar is also the first to offer Obstacle Course Racing in its activity options. This will allow athletes to record obstacle splits. Once they are marked for the first lap, they will be automatically tracked for the remaining laps.

The Obstacle Course activity will show the number of runs on a particular course, run times, number of obstacles, time spent on each obstacle, run metrics for run splits (distance, pace, cadence, stride length, etc.), elevation profile, heart rate, and distance.

As for Instinct 2X Solar - Tactical Edition, Garmin said this has features specific to tactical operation, like Jumpmaster and preloaded tactical activities, projected waypoints, dual-position GPS formatting, and Night-Vision Compatibility.

There is also Stealth Mode, which prevents sharing of GPS position and disables wireless communication. In this mode, GPS location is visible on the watch face but not saved to the device memory or shared.

Instinct 2X Solar – Tactical Edition also has a multi-LED flashlight in white or green. The green light is useful in maintaining the users' eyes natural night vision.
