A British heavy equipment manufacturer known as JCB has created two smartphones with rugged designs. Behold the Toughphone and Toughphone Max.
Both devices highlight the MIL-SPEC 810G rating which means they survive tests for different environmental conditions. That is thanks to the reinforced polycarbonate frame and back with metal materials allowing these phones to endure such harsh conditions. On the website, it noted they can survive drops of up to 1.8 meters.
Another notable feat is the IP68 dust and water resistance, which allows the phones to withstand underwater of up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. Moreover, they also have Gorilla Glass protection with rubber rim for further protection and pre-apple glass screen protectors.
Going to internals, the regular version gets a 5.7-inch HD+ LCD (IPS) screen, 12nm MTK Helio P22 SoC, 6GB/128GB memory configuration, 4,050mAh battery, and single 20MP rear camera + LED flash.
On the other hand, the Max variant gets a bigger 6.67-inch FHD+ LCD (IPS) screen, 7nm MTK Dimensity 700 SoC, 8GB/256GB memory, 48MP main + 16MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro, and VGA helper.
What sets it apart is the 12,200mAh battery which the company claims has up to 30 days of standby time.
Unfortunately, the brand didn't mention the exact charging speeds for both variants but promised they support the Quick Charging feature.
For connectivity, they have 4G, 5G (Max variant only), WiF, GPS, NFC, and dual-SIM nano support.
For OS, the two devices run Android 13.
