vivo closes online store in Germany following a court ruling in favor of Nokia!

Similar to what happened to OPPO and OnePlus, another BBK phone maker vivo shuts down its online store in Germany.

vivo closes its online store in Germany!

This is due to a similar reason. Following a lawsuit from Finnish phone maker Nokia. A German court supported Nokia's claims. Apparently, vivo had infringed the Nokia patent referring to WLAN connections in vivo's handsets. The same cause as to why the other BBK subsidiaries had to temporarily leave the German market.

Now, consumers in that region can no longer purchase products from vivo. If you go to their website, you will see a quick note that "vivo's products are not available at the moment". However, existing users in the said country will still get customer service and software updates.

It is worth noting that the Nokia unit in Finland that is connected to the equipment supplier was the one who filed the patent action and not HMD Global, which right oversees Nokia's smartphone division.
