realme 11 Pro 5G Unboxing, First Impressions, and Camera Samples

These are our first impressions of the upcoming realme 11 Pro 5G with a 100MP main rear camera, Dimensity 7050 SoC, and a 120Hz curved OLED screen.

The design is similar to the realme 11 Pro+ version

To recap, the realme 11 Pro 5G's claim to fame is its 100MP f/1.75 main rear camera and 6.7-inch curved VISION OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. 

Other specs include the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC, Mali-G68 GPU, 8GB/12GB RAM, 128GB/256GB storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 67W SUPERVOOC.

In the Philippines, the device is expected to be priced around to or similar to the previous generation realme 10 Pro 5G.

Unboxing/Accessories

The realme 11 Pro 5G's packaging is the evolution of the previous generation's box. It looks nearly identical but if you look closely, there are diagonal lines in a slightly darker shade of yellow. In front is the branding while at the back are key specs and features with the regulatory information.

Inside the box are the phone, SIM ejector tool, USB-A to USB-C cable, 67W SUPERVOOC wall charger, bumper case, and documentation. It has a pre-installed screen protector as well.

There are no included earphones inside the box.

Build Quality/Design

The build of the phone is what we come to expect from a premium mid-range smartphone in 2023. It is made of a combination of glass, high-quality polycarbonate, and faux leather.

The large circular camera module and the faux leather with the gold and yellow strip in the middle give it a unique and premium look.

In between the glass front panel and the rear faux leather back is the high-quality polycarbonate frame with a copper color. 

The aforementioned circular camera module is massive. It takes almost a third of the phone and it carries the rear cameras and an LED flash.

Moving to the screen, it has a 6.7-inch curved OLED screen with a 2412 x 1080 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 360Hz touch sampling rate, and a 900 nits peak brightness.  It has a 93.65 screen-to-body ratio and a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio.

On the upper part of the display is the punch hole that houses the selfie camera.

Around the panel are slim bezels with a near-symmetrical thickness. On the top bezel is the hidden super slim earpiece.

The bottom and the top sides have a brushed-metal-like finish that makes it look more like copper which adds to its premium look.

On top is the microphone port and the first set of speaker grills while at the bottom are the SIM tray, microphone port, and the second set of speaker grills. Yes, it comes with stereo speakers.

The SIM tray accommodates up to two nano SIM cards. It has a realme yellow rubber gasket that could indicate a form of water and dust resistance.

On the left side is a smooth surface while on the right side are the polycarbonate volume rocker and polycarbonate power button. These buttons have a plastic-y but surprisingly satisfying feel when pressed.

At the back of the phone is the 100MP f/1.75 main rear camera with OIS, and the 2MP f/2.4 portrait camera with an LED flash. The main camera can record up to 4K at 30fps.

While in front is a 16MP f/2.45 selfie camera. It records up to 1080p at 30fps.

Aside from that, the camera app features the following modes: Photo, Video, Night, Portrait, Pro, 100M, Pano, Movie, Slo-Mo, Time-lapse, Long Exposure, Dual-View video, Text Scanner, Starry Mode, Group Portrait, and Tilt-Shift.

The Pro mode allows for control of ISO (100-6400), Shutter Speed (1/8000 to 30 secs), EV (+- 2), focus, and white balance. Only the main rear camera can use the Pro mode.

The initial images from the realme 11 Pro 5G are impressive. The images are sharp, detailed, vibrant, and contrasty. We hope this will be consistent once we do more testing. There was no noticeable difference from the rear main camera's 1x to 2x crop.

Other key features of the phone include WiFi 6, 5G, 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and GLONASS.

We are definitely excited to see how the realme 11 Pro 5G's performance in power, battery, and cameras.

We love the design, build, and camera performance. We were impressed with the quality of images from the main rear camera and the selfie camera.

Let's not forget the other features like the 5,000mAh battery with 67W SUPERVOOC fast wired charging, stereo speakers, and the 6.7-inch curved OLED screen with 120Hz and 900nits peak brightness.

So far, our initial impression of the realme 11 Pro 5G is truly positive.
