realme earlier confirmed that the new 11 Series 5G will go official in the Philippines this August 24. The top-end model of that line is its "Pro+" variant.

This device highlights an improved design with a Vegan Leather texture, a large 3D curved 120Hz screen, a 5G-ready mid-range chip, massive memory, and a large battery with super-fast charging. Moreover, this is the first realme device sporting a massive 200MP primary shooter. This is an upgrade coming from the 100MP and 67W of the realme 11 Pro as well.

I recently had a chance to grab a hold of it and here's what we initially think about the device.

This is the realme 11 Pro+.

Unboxing/Accessories

The inclusions

Apart from the phone, realme's iconic yellow box contains a flexible clear case, paper documents for warranty and more, USB-A to USB-C cable, and the USB-C 100W power brick.

The handset itself has a pre-installed plastic screen protector as well. There are no earphones with a single microphone in the package.

Build Quality/Design

Beautiful back cover

realme used a combination of Vegan Leather, plastic, and glass to craft the realme 11 Pro+.

The Vegan Leather is said to be "durable" and stain-free, but only time will tell if realme is telling the truth. The polycarbonate frame looks standard to me.

The curved display has 0.65mm Double-Reinforced Glass protection. This is the same durable glass found on the realme 10 Pro+ that can withstand drops and hairline scratches.

The phone feels durable in general!

What's missing is an IP rating for water and dust resistance even if it has a yellow rubber gasket to protect its SIM part from splashes.

When it comes to design, this handset is undeniably stunning. The back design looks like a work of art with incredible attention to detail.

Classy, stunning design!

realme told us in its product briefer that they designed its Vegan Leather to feel like leather and it really feels like one with a soft velvety touch to it. The advantage of this is it isn't slippery to hold. In addition, we noticed that it is not prone to fingerprint smudges as well.

Moreover, it has a 3D Woven Texture in the middle of its back in Gold and Copper-like colors that add a bit more flair to the device.

On the upper portion of its back, you will find a big circular bump housing its camera system. It looks beautiful with a touch of gold disc-like ring in the middle. But this hump is a little thicker due to its big primary sensor.

In front, you will be greeted by its large 6.7-inch 61-degree curved OLED screen with a top-center punch-hole for the 32MP Sony selfie camera. It also has a fingerprint reader underneath the bottom part of the screen. The fingerprint reader just works.

realme said that this has a 93.65 percent of screen-to-body ratio due to its use of very slim bezels all over which results in an immersive viewing experience.

On top, you will find the secondary speaker together with a microphone. Below, it has pinhole access to the dual nano SIM tray, USB-C reversible port, and the primary speaker grille. On the left, it has the power key and the volume rocker.

realme said that this was designed in collaboration with Matteo Menotto former Gucci Print Designer and Bulgari Head of Design for Prints.

The device measures 161.6 x 73.9 x 8.7 mm and weighs just 189 grams.

By the way, realme is also highlighting that the handset has the ability to do up to 4x lossless zoom due to its use of a large 200MP f/1.69 Samsung ISOCELL HP3 sensor with 1/1.4-inch large sensor size, PDAF focus, and optical image stabilization.

Up to 4x lossless zoom!

The 4-axis gyro-based Optical Image Stabilization technology that realme used here is a special one as it is enhanced to "Super OIS" with a 3-degree EDR OIS Algorithm which helps in minimizing blurs from shakes.

It is the first thing we tried with this handset. Have a look.

In broad daylight, it appears that the 2x and 4x zoom zoom of the realme 11 Pro+ is really lossless. Especially with the 2x zoom, noise is hardly noticeable unless you pixel peep. Even at 4x, noise and artifacts are minimal.

Ultra-wide, 20x

The maximum zoom level of the realme 11 Pro+ is 20x. While it'll be noisy and grainy, the 20x zoom somehow helps in letting us see things from afar that are hardly noticeable to the naked eye. This is actually better than most digital camera zooms we've seen without a periscope zoom.

The other advantage of its lossless zoom is it allows the handset to take pretty high-quality 2x Portrait zooms. As you can see, it has a DSLR-like effect. The images are high-quality for a mid-ranger.

Other features of the phone that were are excited to explore include its new 5G-ready 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7050 octa-core processor, large 12GB/512GB memory, 5,000mAh battery with USB-C 100W SUPERVOOC fast charging, stereo speakers, and more among others.

As of the moment

The new realme 11 Pro+ is arguably the most stunning phone we've seen in person for its expected price range in terms of design. It looks and feels like a high-end machine due to its Vegan Leather back material and 3D curved display and the cameras are as great as advertised so far.

The rest of the specs are also quite exciting. It has a massive 12GB RAM, 12GB Dynamic RAM Expansion, and 512GB of storage for multitasking and storing more files, apps, or games as well as a large battery capacity with super-fast 100W SUPERVOOC fast charging that can charge its capacity to 50 percent in just 13 mins.

realme also said that apart from having a 120Hz smooth refresh rate, its OLED display has HDR10+ support with a 950 nits peak brightness and TÜV Rheinland Strobe-free Certification and TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light Certification for eye protection.

My minor concern is its use of the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chip as it is just a minor upgrade coming from the Dimensity 920 of the realme 10 Pro+. Even if it is a fairly fast chip, many have started using the newer and stronger chips at their expected price range. Thankfully, the ISP Dimensity 7050 truly supports 200MP cameras and it could be the main advantage of this phone over the competition. It seems like really is really focused on photography here.

In general, I'm pretty pleased with nearly everything I'm seeing with the realme 11 Pro+.
