Leica SOFORT 2 hybrid instant camera launched: 4.9MP, 28mm equivalent Summar lens, Internal storage
Leica introduced the successor to its SOFORT instant cameras with the addition of a 4.9MP CMOS sensor, 2.4mm Leica Summar lens and internal storage.

Leica's take on the hybrid instant camera?
The original Leica SOFORT instant camera was introduced back in 2016. It supported FUJIFILM Instax film and was quickly discontinued.
Seven years later, the German camera manufacturer just introduced the new SOFORT 2.

It features a 4.9MP Type 1/5 (2.9 x 2.2mm) CMOS sensor with a permanently attached 2.4mm F2.0 Leica Summar lens which is equivalent to 28mm in 35mm full-frame. It is powered by an internal 740mAh Li-ion battery. It is rated for up to 100 instant prints. It will take 2 to 3 hours of charging to get to 100 percent through USB.
The notable addition is internal storage. Leica says that it can save up to 45 images internally and it can be expanded with microSD cards at up to 1TB (850 images). It connects wirelessly through Bluetooth 4.2 LE via the Leica FOTOS app.
It includes 10 film styles (Normal, Vivid, Pale, Canvas, Monochrome, Sepia, Yellow, Red, Blue, and Retro) and 10 lens effects (Normal, Vignette, Soft Focus, Blur, Fisheye, Color Shift, Light leak, Mirror, Double Exposure, and Half-frame).
At the back of the camera is a large 460K-dot 3-inch TFT LCD. It has an ISO range of 100-1600, a shutter speed range of 1/4-1/8000 sec and has +-2 EV in 1/3 EV increments.
Pictures from the internal memory and the inserted memory card can be printed. The last 50 prints are stored and can be printed repeatedly. When connected to the Leica FOTOS app, photos can be sent to the camera via the app.
Included in the box is the USB cable, carrying strap, quick start guide and lens cap.
The camera measures 123 x 86 x 44mm and weighs 320 grams. Lastly, It will come in either Red, Black or White.

Leica SOFORT 2 - PHP 26,500
The original SOFORT was priced at around PHP 19K in the Philippines.
The SOFORT 2 can now be purchased in the United States. There is no word yet on availability and pricing in the Philippines.
