China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has certified and listed images and specs of Xiaomi's upcoming SU7 series of electric vehicles.

The certification revealed images and specifications of the upcoming electric vehicle series composed of the SU7, SU7 Pro and SU7 Max.

Design-wise, it was crafted by the main designer of the BMW iX with contributions from the designers associated with the Mercedes Benz EQXX.

The vanilla SU7 or BJ7000MBEVR2 and BJ7000MBEVA1 are C-class sedans powered by a single motor supplied by United Automotive Electronic Systems with a peak power of 220kW or 295 horsepower. Powering the car is the Lithium Iron Phosphate or LPT supplied by FinDreams (a battery manufacturing arm of BYD). The SU7 will offer an optional rooftop-mounted LiDAR component that will probably be used for driver assistance and autonomous features.

While the SU7 Pro and SU7 Max will carry 220kW or 295hp and 275kW or 386hp dual motors from Suzhou Innovance Automotive and will be powered by Li-ion ternary batteries from CATL.

The SU7 measures 4,997 x 1,963 x 1,455 mm and will have a wheelbase of 3,000nm. This means that it will be longer and wider than the popular Tesla Model 3. The vanilla SU7 weighs around 1,980kg while the Pro and Max variants will weigh 2,205 grams.

The EV is expected to integrate with the newly announced HyperOS into its in-car system which should offer seamless connectivity with the brand's other devices.

GizmoChina expects the Xiaomi SU7 series to begin mass production this December 2023. It will have a trial production in BAIC's Beijing factory and it will most likely be delivered within February 2024. The website also speculates that it will have a starting price of CNY 149,000 or around PHP 1.15 Million. There is no word yet on International pricing and availability.

Take this information with a grain of salt until the official announcement by Xiaomi.
