The global version of the new Reno11 5G that will be launched in the country this February 1 comes with a 120Hz 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED screen, a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7050 octa-core processor, Mali G68 MC4 GPU, 12GB RAM, 128GB/256GB of internal storage and a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging via USB-C.

At the back of the phone are the 50MP main camera with OIS, the 32MP telephoto camera, and the 8MP ultra-wide camera with an LED flash. While in front is the 32MP selfie camera.

Despite being a "non-pro" variant, it has a periscope telephoto lens for Portraits and super zooming.

Other key features include NFC, Dual SIM, Bluetoooth 5.3, IR blaster, and microSD card expansion.

There is no word about its pricing yet. But, we expect it to be priced similarly to the previous generation.

Let's dive in.

Build Quality/Design

The frame is made of polycarbonate but the front and rear panels are made of glass.

The front panel is protected AGC Dragontrail Star 2 glass while the back is Gorilla Glass 5 Protected. Thankfully, it has a pre-installed plastic screen protector.

Generally, the phone's design is immediately eye-catching. It looks similar to the last generation except for the colorway and the rear camera module. It is quite impressive given that it is just 7.99mm thin and weighs 182 grams but carries a large capacity battery.

It will come in either Rock Grey or Wave Green colorways.

The screen is a large 6.7-inch OLED screen with a 2,412 x 1080 resolution, a 60Hz/90Hz/120Hz dynamic refresh rate, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a 960 nits peak brightness. It supports HDR10+.

Around the panel are slim side bezels that are nearly symmetrical with the chin bezel being slightly thicker than the rest. On the upper part of the display is the punch hole that houses the selfie camera. Above it is the super slim earpiece.

With its 960 nits peak brightness, it produces decently bright images that are noticeably sharp, detailed, and contrasty. The colors it produces are vibrant too.

On top of the phone are the 1st set of speakers, an IR blaster, and a microphone port. On the bottom are the 2nd set of speakers, USB-C, microphone port, and the SIM tray.

On the left side is the smooth surface while on the right are the polycarbonate power button and the polycarbonate volume rocker. Both buttons have a plastic-y feel when pressed.

The SIM tray can carry up to two nano-SIM cards. It has a yellow rubber gasket that indicates a form of a water and dust resistance.

At the back of the phone are the 50MP f/1.8 main camera with a 1/1.95-inch Sony LYT600 sensor with OIS and PDAF, a 32MP f/2.0 telephoto camera with Sony IMX709 1/2.74-inch RGBW sensor, and an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera with Sony IMX355 sensor and a LED flash.

The stock camera app's modes include Photo, Video, Portrait, Pro, Night, Hi-Res, Pano, Slo-Mo, Time-lapse, Dual-View Video, Sticker and Text scanner.

The Pro mode allows for controls of ISO (100-6400), Shutter Speed (30-1/8,000 sec), EV (+-3), Focus, and White Balance.

The first images were taken from a well-lit kitchen. The resulting images from the main camera and telephoto camera (1x, 2x, 5x) were great. They were sharp, detailed, and contrasty with vibrant yet true-to-life colors. The ultra-wide is nearly the same but noticeably less sharp than the main and telephoto cameras. This is probably because of the 8MP sensor compared to the 50MP and 32MP respectively.

When shooting close-ups, the main rear camera's depth of field is wide enough to keep the majority of the subject in focus. The image taken is sharp and detailed with vibrant yet true-to-life color. And even though the warm indoor lighting was there, the white balance was able to compensate.

The selfie camera's 32MP sensor was able to produce decently sharp and detailed selfies with good contrast but the color accuracy of skin tones and lips could be improved.

Currently, the results from both the rear are consistently good while the selfies struggle with skin tones. We hope the results will be consistent once we do more testing.

Inside is the 5,000mAh battery that charges from 0 to 33 percent in 10 minutes and from 0 to 100 percent in 45 minutes when using the included 67W SUPERVOOC charger.

Other key features of the phone include an under-display fingerprint scanner, face unlock, Dual SIM, NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, IR blaster, microSD card expansion, 5G, LTE, and WiFi 6.

What impressed us is how loud and powerful the dual-speakers can get. OPPO says that it can boost stereo sound to 300 percent!

Running the show is ColorOS 14 with new features including File Dock (allows you to tap and drag files between different apps), Smart Touch (allows extracting of content from screenshots), Smart Image matting (allows users to quickly cut out subjects from photos and paste elsewhere), and the new Trinity Engine (it enhances smoothness and stability by optimizing ROM, RAM and CPU).

OPPO claims that the new Reno11 Series 5G phones are built to last.

As of the moment

Web surfing on the Reno11 5G!
Web surfing on the Reno11 5G!

When compared to the previous generation, the major changes include the new 50MP main camera with OIS, Android 14-based ColorOS 14, and the new colorway.

Out of the box, we have to commend OPPO for producing an eye-catching phone with a gem-like glittery back panel. It glimmers as it catches the light.

We love the lightweight body and curved slim body which make it easy to hold for extended periods.

There was no mention of official water and dust resistance but we are glad there is a rubber gasket on the dual nano-SIM tray.

The FHD+ OLED screen can get really bright with its 960 nits peak brightness while providing vibrant and contrasting images.

It even has a large 5,000mAh battery but only comes with 67W USB-C fast charging.

What surprised us was the inclusion of stereo speakers, NFC, and an IR blaster. These are usually omitted from other similarly priced phones.
