Meta adds edit message, pin chat, other new features on Instagram!

Meta has added enhancements to Instagram for users’ convenience.

New DM features on IG

Meta recently announced that Instagram users can now edit messages up to 15 minutes after sending them. They simply have to press and hold on to the sent message then choose “edit” from the options.

Pinning favorite chats on top of inbox will be also soon available on IG. This will be limited to up to three group or 1:1 chats. To do this, swipe left or tap and hold on the chat, then tap “pin.” Unpinning can be done anytime.

Users can also now turn on or off read receipts:

• Go to account settings
• Tap Messages and story replies
• Tap Show read receipts
• Toggle read receipts on or off for all of your chats

Users can also now save their favorite stickers by pressing and holding them.

Additionally, stickers, GIFs, videos, photos, and voice messages are available when you reply to a message. Simply press and hold on to the message, and select reply to see the options.

More themes for chats are also now available. This includes Love (soon to be animated), Lollipop, and Avatar: The Last Airbender. To change the theme for a chat, tap the chat name up top, go into themes, and pick one of the themes available.
