Nothing Phone (2a) announced: Dimensity 7200 Pro, dual 50MP camera, and 4 years OS updates, price starts at PHP 18,990

On schedule, Nothing today officially launches the Phone (2a). A new affordable near-stock Android experience.

The phone's new design

Nothing Phone (2a) is now official!

To start, Nothing has tweaked the rear design a little bit. Unlike its siblings with more prominent LED strips with a G pattern, now you will notice lesser LED lighting around its camera. Speaking of which the camera design resembles an eye of a robot (Do you remember Wall-E?). The rest is that the brand retained the transparent design while also showing a clean look.

The device's display and UI

At the front, the phone uses a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with 2412 x 1084 resolution, 1300 nits peak brightness, 30-120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Inside, the Phone (2a) is equipped with a new 2.8GHz 4nm MTK chip called the Dimensity 7200 Pro octa-core processor with Mali-G610 MC4 GPU. It is also paired with 8GB/12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB/512GB storage.

In the battery department, the device has a 5,000mAh capacity that charges using USB-C and a 45W power brick.

For cameras, it has a 50MP f/1.88 shooter with OIS + 50MP ultra-wide-angle sensor. While at the front, it packs a 32MP shooter with f/2.4 aperture. Nothing claims that it features UltraXDR, Motion Capture, Night Mode, Action Mode, and Portrait Optimizer.

Other features are an In-Display fingerprint reader, stereo speakers, and 3x microphones.

Connectivity-wise, it has 5G, 4G, WiFi 6 (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS.

For OS, the phone runs Android 14 with Nothing OS 2.5 out of the box. The brand also promises 4 years of updates.
