Tight competition among affordable smartphones in PH

According to a recent report by Canalys, the Philippine smartphone market remain to be the second largest in Southeast Asia in January 2024. It said the country accounted for 21 percent of shipment share and 1.5 million shipments.

It showed the most robust recovery, with remarkable year-on-year growth of 77 percent, it added.

The report also said that competition at the low end intensified as brands like realme, Xiaomi, and Transsion launched more budget-friendly devices with impressive core specifications, such as RAM and ROM.

Canalys said TRANSSION strengthened its market presence by securing 37 percent of the market share in January, employing aggressive channel incentives and sponsoring gaming teams to appeal to youthful and budget-conscious buyers.

In response to this, realme introduced its Note 50 series. The realme Note 50 went official in the Philippines in January.

This boasts an Ultra Slim Design at just 7.99mm with a Trendy Glittering Design highlighted by a shimmering finish on top and a matte finish on the bottom of the back panel. Moreover, it has an IP54 rating to protect it against dust and water splashes.

It is powered by the 1.82GHz 12nm UNISOC T612 octa-core processor with Mali-G57 GPU, 4GB RAM, 4GB Dynamic RAM Expansion (up to 8GB in total RAM), 64GB expandable storage via microSD slot, and a 5,000mAh large battery capacity for whole day battery with USB-C charging.

You get these along with other features for only PHP 3,599.
