HONOR Magic Vs 3 launched: Slimmer body w/ Periscope lens, curved cover display

HONOR announces its latest foldable in the form of Magic Vs 3 bringing upgrades in hardware, cameras, and slim body.

HONOR's last year's Magic Vs 2 became the world's thinnest foldable during its time at 9.9mm (folded) and 4.77mm (unfolded). Meanwhile, the successor comes with a slightly slimmer approach with 4.65mm when unfolded and 9.8mm when folded.

Super slim body

Those numbers may be small but the main difference is that it now comes with an 8MP periscope sensor with 5x optical zoom and 50x digital zoom which usually provides a bigger camera bump on traditional devices. 

It is also joined with a 50MP OIS main camera and a 40MP ultra-wide angle sensor.

The display

Another highlight here is the usage of a curved AMOLED panel for the 6.43-inch cover display. It also has a resolution of 2376 x 1060 with 2,500 nits peak brightness.

The main screen features a 7.8-inch 2344 x 2156 resolution, 120Hz LTPO refresh rate, HDR Vivid support, and 1,600nits peak brightness.

HONOR also boasts the Luban Titanium hinge and shield steel to ensure the fold's durability and lightness.

Inside, it is powered by the 3.2GHz 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 octa-core processor with Adreno GPU. There is also RF improvement and a security chip for reliable connectivity and privacy protection.

It also has 16GB RAM, 1TB storage, a 5,000mAh battery, and charges using a 66W wired USB-C power brick and a 50W wireless charging pad.

Other features are a side fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers with DTS:X Ultra, and 3x microphones.

For connectivity, it has 5G, 4G LTE, WiFi (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS and NFC.

For OS, the phone runs Android 14 with MagicOS 8.0.1 skin on top.
