Vivamax responds to massive data breach of personal and transactional info of subscribers!

Vivamax released an official statement addressing the substantial 2.08GB of subscriber data leak.

Prominent mature video streaming operator Vivamax, Inc. recently allegedly suffered a substantial data leak where the attackers accessed the company's database through API scraping authenticated admin privileges. The exposed data was said to be listed for sale and it has a file size of 2.08GB and includes both the personal and transactional information of subscribers.

The information over 6.8 million records in JSON format that contain the full names, phone numbers, email addresses, country registration, account creation dates, subscription IDs, subscription start and end times, subscription type (Google, HUAWEI, Card, Apple, PayMaya) and parental control PINs.

In addition, the Subscribers' Transactional data file size is 1.0GB and contains multiple transaction rows per subscriber in JSON format.

Vivamax response

Later, Vivamax responds and assures the public that the company is taking this matter seriously and is exhausting all means to investigate and verify the breach and its possible scope. The company also claims that they have implemented appropriate protocols to secure its system and to further protect data against unauthorized access while the investigation is ongoing. They also said that they would coordinate with the authorities and provide more information to their customers at the earliest opportunity.
