Redmi has a new entry-level tablet with a smaller display size and slightly toned-down hardware.
Unlike the first Redmi Pad SE with an 11-inch display, this version uses a smaller one with an 8.7-inch LCD (IPS) panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and even has 10-bit color depth. The screen also supports two reading modes such as Class or Paper while it also received certification from TUV Rheinland for low blue light and flicker-free performance.
Inside, it is powered by an entry-level chip 12nm 2.0GHz Helio G85 octa-core CPU with Mali-G52 MC2 GPU, 6GB RAM, and 128GB expandable storage.
It also has a 6,650mAh battery with 18W fast charging and supports USB-C cable.
The tablet sports an 8MP rear camera + LED flash while you can use the 5MP shooter at the front for selfies and video calls.
Other features are stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and a 3.5mm audio jack slot.
For connectivity, it supports 4G (optional), WiFi (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS and dual SIM
For OS, the tablet runs HyperOS out of the box.
Redmi Pad SE 8.7 WiFi - EUR 139 (around PHP 8.7K)
Redmi Pad SE 8.7 LTE - EUR 179 (around PHP 11.2K)
The tablet is now available to purchase in Europe. However, Redmi hasn't mentioned availability for other markets yet.
