VinFast VF 5 EV launched in PH: 150 km/hr top speed, 326 km range per charge, PHP 992K starting price

VinFast introduced the VF 5 electric SUV a month after entering the Philippine market. The price starts at PHP 992,000 with a battery subscription.

The new compact SUV from the Vietnamese manufacturer comes in a youthful design with soft curves and modern lines. It comes in eye-catching colors such as Brahimny White, Crimson Red, VinFast Blue and Neptune Grey.

Inside the car is the 100kW electric motor with 135Nm of torque, a 150km/hr top speed, and a range of 326km per charge. The car accelerates from 0-100km/h in 9.5 seconds. The 37.23 kWh lithium-ion battery charges 10 percent to 70 percent in just 33 minutes.

The brand emphasizes safety and security. The car is equipped with six airbags (front, side, and curtain), advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) like lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and emergency braking, For added security, the car comes with anti-lock braking (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), and brake assist. Added features include rear parking sensors, rear-view cameras, and blind-spot monitoring. For parents, the VinFast VF 5 comes with ISOFIX child seat mounts.

Inside the cabin is a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen system that is compatible with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The comfortable seating can carry up to 5 people. Cargo space is 400 litres which can be expanded by folding the rear seats.

VinFast provides a 7-year or 160,000 km warranty (whichever comes first) and FREE maintenance for battery subscribers if the Battery capacity falls below 70 percent.
