SmartPrix reports that the upcoming successor to the popular OnePlus Open foldable will feature a curved design with upgraded cameras.
In collaboration with Yogesh Brar and Chunvn, SmartPrix posted fan-made renders that were allegedly based on a late-stage prototype. These renders provide a better visualization of the upcoming new foldable.
The report claims that the OnePlus Open 2 will be larger yet thinner but will retain the bold circular camera module with Hasselblad branding.
When folded, it will allegedly measure under 10mm thin and will come with an IPX8 rating. If true, it will significantly upgrade from the original's IPX4 rating.
SmartPrix expects the device to have an 8-inch 2K LTPO folding display and a 6.4-inch AMOLED cover screen. It will allegedly come with the 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, up to 16GB RAM, up to 1TB of storage, and a 5,900mAh battery with 80W fast charging. This is a major upgrade from the original's 4,800mAh battery.
At the back of the foldable will allegedly be a Hasselblad-branded 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP 3x telephoto camera with an LED flash. It will have a 32MP and 20MP selfie camera.
The foldable will run Android 15-based OxygenOS 15 and is expected to launch in China in early 2025. It is expected to launch globally in late Q1, 2025. It may be rebranded as the OPPO Find N5 in select markets.
Take this information with a grain of salt until OnePlus or OPPO's official announcement.
