OnePlus Ace 5, Ace 5 Pro launched in China: SD8G3 or SD8 Elite, 120Hz LTPO, 50MP Sony main camera
OnePlus has introduced the successor to the Ace 3 and Ace 3 Pro in China now equipped with either the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

An Ace up its sleeve?
The new OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro share similar specifications including the 6.78-inch 8T LTPO AMOLED screen with a 2,780 x 1,264 resolution, a 4,500 nits peak brightness, and a 1-120Hz refresh rate. It supports 2,160Hz PWM dimming and is OPPO Crystal Shield glass-protected.

The main differences are the SoC, battery capacity, and colorways. Inside the Ace 5 is the 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with the Adreno 750 GPU while the Ace 5 Pro has the 3nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite with the Adreno 830 GPU.
The SoC is accompanied by 12GB/16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB/512GB/1TB UFS 4.0 storage. The Ace 5 has a 6,415mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC fast charging while the Ace 5 Pro comes with a 6,100mAh battery with 100W SuperVOOC fast charging.
At the back of both phones are the 50MP f/1.8 main camera with Sony IMX906 sensor and OIS, an 8MP f/2.2 120-degree ultra-wide angle camera with Sony IMX355 sensor, and a 2MP f/2.0 macro camera with OmniVision OV02B sensor with an LED flash while in front is the 16MP selfie camera with a Sony IMX480 sensor.
Other features include Stereo speakers, an IR blaster, an in-display fingerprint scanner, dual SIM, 5G, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, Beidou, GPS, GLONASS, QZSS, NFC, and USB-C.
Both phones are IP65 dust and splash-resistant and run Android 15-based ColorOS 15.
The Ace 5 measures 161.72 x 75.77 x 8.02mm and weighs 206 grams. It comes in either Gravitational Titanium, Full Speed Black, or Celadon Ceramic Special Edition. While the Ace 5 Pro measures 161.72 x 75.77 x 8.14mm and weighs 203 grams. It comes in either Star Dome Purple, Submersible Black, or White Moon Porcelain Ceramic Special Edition. Both Ceramic Special editions weigh more than the non-ceramic colorways.

Both OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro will be available in stores on December 31, 2024, in China.
FoneArena expects the Oneplus Ace 5 to launch globally as the OnePlus 13R in January with a slightly different camera and battery.
