The event was graced by an official Guinness World Record Adjudicator with strict rules, guidelines and enforcement. The 264 participants were asked to line up and to simultaneously drop the smartphone.

Scheduled to launch live on HONOR Philippine's official Facebook Page on January 10, the new HONOR X9c's key features include an IP65M rating and an SGS 5-Star rating for drop resistance. This means the phone can be submerged up to 25cm deep for up to 5 minutes and has withstood drops of up to two meters.

Based on the HONOR Global listing, the phone is expected to come with a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, an Adreno A710 GPU, 8GB/12GB RAM, 256GB/512GB storage, and a 6,600mAh Silicon Carbon battery with a 66W fast charger via USB-C. At the back of the phone are a 108MP main camera and a 5MP wide-angle camera while in front is a 16MP selfie camera. Other expected features include 5G, 4G LTE, dual Nano SIM support, Bluetooth 5.1, WiFi, OTG, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, and NFC.

Pre-orders for the phone will begin on January 10, and those who pre-order will be entered to win a brand new Rolex Datejust.
