Photoshop on iPhone is official
Previously, only Adobe Photoshop Express was available for iPhones. Years later, Adobe has released a brand new, free mobile image editing and design with a reimagined interface said to be optimized for phones.
Adobe outright addresses the possible thinking of "Photoshop on the phone can't be the same as Photoshop on the desktop, right?" with the statement that Photoshop for the phone is not intended to replace Photoshop on the desktop.
While the desktop has deep and powerful tools that enable precision editing on larger screens, the new Photoshop on the phone is built to empower mobile-first creators who may just be getting started and want to create wherever they are whenever they want and may be new to Photoshop and its power.
The capabilities of Photoshop on iPhone include:
- Create, combine, compose and blend images with precise selection tools, unlimited layers and masks
- Remove, recolor, or replace part of an image after making a selection using the intuitive Tap Select Tool.
- Brush away Spots with advanced removal tools like Spot Healing Brush
- Speed up and simplify complex edits with generative AI tools such as Generative Fill and Generative Expand.
- Make advanced edits on Photoshop for iPhone and bring your PSDs into Adobe Express, and Adobe Fresco. Edit Adobe Lightroom photos in Photoshop on iPhone.
- Import and export images at full resolution
- Add, replace, and create a vast library of Adobe Stock assets
Alongside the new app is the new Photoshop Mobile and Web Plan via the App Store, this gives creators access to premium mobile features and Photoshop on the web. Both the Mobile and Web apps are designed with similar user experiences and files automatically sync so you can seamlessly create across surfaces.

Premium Features unlocked with a subscription include:
- Remove Tool, Clone Stamp and Content-Aware Fill
- Precise Selection tools such as Object Select and Magic Wand
- Transparency controls, color effects and advanced Blend Modes
- Typefaces and styles
- Additional file formats such as PSD, TIF, JPG, and PNG
The Photoshop Mobile and Web Plan is USD 7.99 (or PHP 463) per month or USD 69.99 (or PHP 4.1K) per year.
Is this move a response to Apple's recent purchase of Pixelmator? Maybe. But if you look at the pricing, it is clear why Adobe increased the pricing of the Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan.
