vivo Y04 silently launched in PH: Drop-resistant body, UNISOC T7725 chip, 5,500mAh battery, PHP 4,699 starting price

vivo Philippines silently jumped into the durability-focused budget smartphone bandwagon with the launch of the new Y04.

Coming from the Y03 last year, the new vivo Y04 is sporting a more durable body with SGS Five-Start Drop Resistance and Military Grade Shock Resistance and improved IP64 dust and water resistance rating (from IP54). This has a total of 7 layers of protection with a comprehensive cushioning structure to ensure durability.

It is available in Crystal Violet, Titanium Gold, and Jade Green.

The display

The display is also now bigger at 6.74-inch from 6.56-inch, and it now has a 60Hz to 90Hz refresh rate. The resolution is the same at HD+ 1600 x 720 with a notch and Wet-Hand Touch tech.

The back design

The battery is now bigger at 5,500mAh from 5,000mAh. It charges via USB-C with 45W charging. According to vivo, it can last for 19 hours of YouTube video playback on a single charge. Moreover, vivo claims that it has a 5 years of battery health with a total of 1,600 charging cycles.

vivo also added a side-mounted fingerprint reader for an extra layer of security.
