Anker Philippines recalls select power banks (A1257, A1647, A1681, A1689)

Anker Philippines on Facebook announced that the company is initiating a voluntary recall for some of its power banks.
The models included in the recall

Voluntary power bank recall

The models included in the recall are the following:

1. Anker Power Bank (10K, 22.5W)  -Model A1257
2. Anker Power Bank (20,000mAh, 22.5W Built-In USB-C able) - Model A1647
3. Anker Zolo Power Bank (20K, 20W, Built-in USB-C, Lightning Cable) - Model A1681
4. Anker Zolo Power Bank (20K, 30W Built-in USB-C Cable) - Model A1689

The company said that they have recently conducted a proactive review of previously produced power bank batches which identified a potential issue with a common lithium-ion battery cell from a single vendor.

These cells were used in the above-mentioned powered bank models.

According to Anker Innovations, the likelihood of malfunction is considered minimal, but they have decided to initiate the recall.

This is probably a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of all their power banks.

In the coming weeks, we’ll also be sharing more about how we’re expanding our battery safety program—further strengthening our commitment to quality, transparency, and peace of mind for our customers.

If your product is confirmed to be affected:

  • Stop using the device immediately.
  • Do not dispose of the power bank until you receive confirmation from Anker that your unit qualifies.
  • Refer to the section titled "How to Safely Dispose of Your Power Bank".
