Innovative video bar for hybrid collaborative work
As businesses in the Philippines continue to embrace hybrid working models, the demand for seamless video conferencing tools has surged dramatically. The new PanaCast 40 VBS is advertised to address this need with cutting-edge features such as a 180-degree field-of-view video and audio capture, 12-minute set-up and wall-mounting installation time, and AI-powered video features.
The PanaCast 40 VBS stands out because of the aforementioned 180-degree field-of-view, delivering a 4K panoramic view with minimal distortion that captures every participant. Including those close to the screen or in the corners. It is equipped with 4x digital zoom, which ensures comprehensive coverage of small meeting spaces without blind spots. This is made possible with Dual 4k panoramic cameras with up to 3,840 x 1,080 resolution, yielding a 180-degree horizontal field of view and 50-degree vertical field of view.

It features an array of beamforming, noise-cancelling microphones, a powerful speaker, and an Aux-Out for assistive listening devices. Jabra is claiming that this setup guarantees excellent audio quality during calls. This is made possible with 1 large speaker with an 80Hz to 20,000Hz frequency range paired with 6 microphones.
The video bar system features artificial intelligence that supposedly improves the video conferencing experience that apparently mimics natural face-to-face interaction, including:
1. Dynamic Composition - Available in Microsoft Teams and Zoom, providing single-stream views with close-ups of up to four people plus a full room overview.
2. Intelligent Zoom - Dynamically adjusts framing to focus on in-room participants for optimal collaboration.
3. Virtual Director - Uses AI to detect speakers and adjust the view accordingly, ensuring remote attendees don't miss any details.
4. Intelligent Meeting Space - Defines virtual boundaries to include only relevant participants, perfect for glass-walled offices common in the Philippine settings.
5. Zoom Smart Gallery - Shares multi-stream views with the three speaker feeds alongside the full room.
Because the device is built on the Android-based Microsoft Device Ecosystem (MDEP) Platform, the PanaCast 40 VBS prioritizes security and ease of management through the Jabra+ platform, enabling real-time remote updates. For added peace of mind, Jabra offers a Warranty+ add-on for up to five years of extended coverage.
