OPPO Philippines silently released the A5i, the company's most affordable offering in the country yet.

Durable, slim, and affordable

Despite being a smartphone with a budget sub-PHP 5K starting price, the device promises Military-Grade Shock Resistance and Multiple Liquid Resistance for enhanced durability.

In particular, it has passed multi-angle drop tests and high-intensity impact tests, based on MIL-STD 810H methodologies and SGS certification. It also has a twice reinforced glass (Panda Glass and China Southern Glass) as well IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.

OPPO impressively made this possible in a super-slim 7.68mm frame.

For specs, don't expect too much. But this is good enough for the price.

The phone is equipped 6.67-inch LCD screen with 90Hz refresh rate, HD+ resolution, and a top-center punch-hole for the 5MP selfie camera with AI Portrait Retouching feature. According to the company, it could go as bright as 1,000 nits for better outdoor legibility.

Inside, it uses the 11nm Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 octa-core processor with 4GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB or 128GB eMMC 5.1 internal storage. It also has a 5,100mAh durable battery with 1,600 cycles before degrading to 80 percent capacity of its original capacity.

This is also the most affordable smartphone with a USB-C 45W SUPERVOOC fast charging tech.

The phone also has an 8MP f/2.0 main camera with AF, side-mounted fingerprint reader, dual-band WiFi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, GPS, and dual SIM slots.

It runs with Android 14 OS with ColorOS 14.0 skin. The company claims that this has passed its 36-Month Fluency Protection test, allowing the phone to perform like new, longer.
