New budget phones for the festive season

The activities begin with the nubia Vibe Fest Mall Event, scheduled for November 8-9 at the Gateway Mall 2 Quantum Skyview. The event will serve as the official launch for two new smartphone models in the Philippine market: the nubia V80 Design and the nubia Air.

Attendees will have the opportunity to test the devices in dedicated zones. The event will also feature live performances by artists, including Charlie Fleming, Ronnie Liang, and the group KAIA. Participants can receive free items, such as gaming chairs from TTRacing Philippines, while supplies last. A collaboration with CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice will offer limited-edition merchandise.

To start, the nubia Air model is marketed as an ultra-slim device. The company claims the phone is only 6.7mm thick, with its frame narrowing further to 5.9mm.

It also boasts top-level dust and water resistance with the IP68/69/69K triple IP rating.

In front, the phone uses a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1.5K 2720 x 1224 resolution, 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, 4,500 nits peak brightness, and an In-Display fingerprint scanner.

The cameras also support AI Super Night and AI High Dynamic Range. For editing, it has the AI Magic Photos, which include the Magic Editor, Magic Eraser, and more.

Other features include HiFi 4 DSP and Dual-Mic AI Noise Cancellation.

For OS, the phone runs on Android 15 out of the box.
