To recap, the Marshall Heston 120 is the brand's first soundbar product, expanding the company's audio offerings into the television segment.
Marshall claims the new audio unit is capable of delivering an immersive and spacious sound experience for both music and television content.
The soundbar uses Marshall's iconic design language, characterized by knurled metal controls, leather accents, and a brushed metal front panel—elements the company says draw inspiration from vintage musical amplifiers.
To create a wide sound field, the Heston 120 utilizes 11 individual drivers arranged in multiple directions. This setup is intended to produce spatial audio that can direct sound to specific areas within a room.

The product is engineered with a 5.1.2-channel configuration, incorporating upward- and side-firing drivers. It supports Dolby Atmos and DTS X audio formats, which are designed to place sound effects with precision for movie viewing, while also aiming to reproduce music with what the company calls depth and clarity.
Integrated into the soundbar are two dedicated subwoofers and four passive radiators, a design choice that Marshall states eliminates the need for a separate external subwoofer for most listening scenarios.

Wireless connectivity includes WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 LE Audio with Auracast support, alongside compatibility with AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, and Tidal Connect.
For ports, it consists of 2x HDMI 2.1 ports, but one port has eARC functionality, an RCA input, and a dedicated output for an optional external subwoofer.
A notable feature highlighted by the company is the product's serviceability. Parts such as the front grille, end caps, drivers, and circuit boards are designed to be replaceable, an approach Marshall frames as a move toward greater longevity in contrast to what it describes as disposable trends in consumer electronics.
To mark the launch of its inaugural TV soundbar, the Heston 120, Marshall has collaborated with MTV for a new episode of MTV Cribs. The special premieres today and features the Hawkins brothers, with a cameo from Marshall Records' alternative rock pair, Nova Twins, reviving the classic series for music audiences.
