Sony PlayStation unveils 30th anniversary mechanical watch

Sony PlayStation has marked its 30th anniversary with the launch of a collaborative watch collection with the brand ANICORN.

New collectibles for PlayStation fans

The release is positioned not as standard merchandise, but as a collectible item intended for long-term wear and preservation.

Its centerpiece is the First PlayStation Limited Edition Mechanical Watch, a globally limited release of 300 units, and its scarcity is expected to appeal to collectors.

The watch distinguishes itself from typical gaming accessories through its use of an automatic mechanical movement, a feature often associated with traditional watchmaking and durability.

Design elements are drawn from the original PS1 console. These include a dial with embossed PlayStation face buttons and hands shaped after the Start and Select buttons.

The matte gray case finish and overall case shape also reflect the console's industrial design, while the case back takes inspiration from the optical drive.

Additionally, the collection includes two more accessible Play Symbol quartz watches, named Dark Mode and Light Mode. These feature floating symbols that shift position on the wrist.

The partnership reflects the broader integration of gaming culture into lifestyle and collector markets. 

The collection will be available exclusively on ANICORN's website starting December 19, 2025, with prices ranging from USD 250 to USD 780 (around PHP 14.6K to 45.7K)
