MediaTek recently launched the Dimensity 7100, a new 5G-ready chipset designed for more affordable mid-range devices, built under TSMC's 6nm manufacturing process.
MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G promises good gaming performance in its class

MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G is now official

It arrived in an octa-core setup featuring 4x Arm Cortex-A78 cores with up to 2.4GHz clockspeed and 4x Arm Cortex-A55 cores up to 2.0GHz. The GPU is the Mali-G610 MC2, an upgrade from the Mali-G57 MC2 and 8 percent better than the Mali-G68 MC4 GPU found on the Dimensity 7050.

The chip also supports up to LPDDR5 @ 5500 Mbps, UFS 3.1 storage, and 1.5K 2600 x 1200 display resolutions at 120Hz refresh rate.

The camera ISP supports up to 200MP sensors with advanced HDR video recording using DCG and DAG technologies. It features multi-frame noise reduction and hardware-accelerated face detection for fast autofocus to ensure selfies and portrait shots are sharp. According to MediaTek, it has 6x faster FD performance and 10x AF detection area.

For connectivity, the device supports global 5G SA/NSA up to 3.3 Gbps with backward compatibility to 4G, 3G, and 2G. It also has up to WiFi 6ax with 1T1R antenna, GNSS (GPS), and Bluetooth 5.4 support with Bluetooth Long Range.
It is a power-efficient chip

It also has MediaTek 5G UltraSave 3.0+, promising up to 30 percent greater power efficiency in typical connectivity scenarios.

MediaTek claims that it is also 5 percent more power-efficient in apps, has up to 23 percent more power-efficient modem, and up to 16 percent more power-efficient multimedia playback.

It also supports up to 45W fast charging and the UFCS universal charging protocol. There is also a new power management system that works at lower voltages for slightly longer battery life.
