Toughness meets folding screen

The launch marks a notable development in the foldable phone category, as the device is presented as the first model to feature both IP68 and IP69 ingress protection ratings.

According to the company, the Magic V6 represents its most durable foldable model to date. It is built with a Super Steel Hinge, described as utilizing the strongest commercially available steel. Honor states that the hinge has been tested in its internal laboratories to withstand up to 500,000 folds.

Despite the enhanced durability, the device maintains a slim profile. When folded, it measures 8.75mm in thickness, comparable to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, and weighs 219 grams for the white color variant. When unfolded, the device is 4mm thin.

The main display is a 7.95-inch LTPO 2.0 AMOLED panel with 2K 2,352 x 2,172 resolution and a variable refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz.

HONOR notes that the screen features reinforced ultra-thin glass (UTG) and a 44 percent reduction in crease depth compared to previous generations. An anti-reflection layer has also been added to improve outdoor legibility, with a peak local brightness of up to 5,000 nits.

The cover screen measures 6.52 inches and shares the same LTPO 2.0 technology with a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. It achieves a peak local brightness of up to 6,000 nits. Both displays support stylus input and are equipped with 20MP selfie cameras.

The Magic V6 also sports the latest flagship Qualcomm chip known as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. It is paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.

Despite having a thin profile, the foldable boasts a whopping 6,660mAh silicon-carbon battery. Charging capabilities include 80W wired fast charging, 66W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging.

Its camera system includes a triple-lens setup with a dedicated 3x optical zoom periscope

The rear camera system comprises a 50MP main sensor with an f/1.6 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS). It is accompanied by a 70mm equivalent 64MP periscope telephoto lens, featuring a 1/2-inch sensor and capable of 3x optical zoom. The setup is completed by a 50MP ultrawide lens.

On the software side, the Magic V6 runs MagicOS 10, based on Android 16. HONOR has committed to providing seven major Android upgrades for the device.

Additionally, the company has enhanced cross-platform functionality with Apple devices. The Honor Connect service now enables two-way notification syncing between the Magic V6 and iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches. Mac users can also share files with the device and utilize its main screen as a secondary display.

Unfortunately, pricing and availability were not yet mentioned during the event. Stay tuned, as we will update you once we hear from HONOR
