A new zoom tech

The next king of mobile zoom photography?

In the photography world, a teleconverter (or extender) is an optical accessory mounted between a camera body and lens to increase focal length.

According to OPPO, it uses a customized 50MP JNL Ultra-Sensing Sensor with an f/3.5 aperture with 230mm 10x optical telephoto zoom capability. This tech is designed in partnership with Hasselblad and has the OPPO Telephoto Sensor Shift and Triple Ultra-precision Active Optical Alignment.

As a result, it can do up to 460mm 20x zoom with "optical quality."

OPPO explains that this is the world's first Quintuple Prism Reflector Periscope Structure with Pristine Optical Path Architecture. The size is 29mm, smaller than the traditional L-shaped 10x periscope, which will be too bulky to be placed on a smartphone.

They showcased a photo allegedly shot on the Find X9 Ultra, and it shows incredible details on a 10x zoom shot.

Apart from the 50MP 10x zoom camera, the Find X9 Ultra is expected to use a 200MP main camera, 50MP ultra-wide, and 200MP 3x optical zoom.

OPPO said that the Find X9 Ultra will launch in April 2026. Expect the company to reveal more info about this flagship device as we near its launch date.
