POCO X8 Pro now official in PH: 4nm Dimensity 8500-Ultra, 50MP f/1.5 OIS cam, PHP 15,499 starting price

POCO Philippines today launched two of the strongest mid-range smartphones money can buy for the price, the X8 Pro Series.

Killer performance for the price

One of them is the POCO X8 Pro, a premium-looking smartphone featuring an iPhone 17-inspired aluminum alloy design. It is available in Black, White, and Mint Green colorways.

This also comes with an IP66, 68, 69, and 69K of dust and water resistance rating for extra durability.

Near bezel-less display

In front, it packs a high-quality 6.59-inch Gorilla Glass 7i-protected AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, 2560Hz touch sampling rate, 3840Hz PWM dimming, and 1.5K 2756 x 1268 resolution at 450 ppi. This display also has 3,500 nits peak brightness, a top-center notch for the 20MP selfie camera, and an In-Display fingerprint sensor.

The phone's display also has triple TÜV Rheinland certifications for Low Blue Light (Hardware Solution), Flicker Free, and Circadian Friendly—ensuring eye comfort.

AMOLED with great picture quality

Inside, the handset is powered by the new 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra octa-core processor with up to 3.4GHz clock speed and Mali-G720 GPU. It is paired with 8GB or 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB or 512GB UFS 4.1 storage.

The handset also has an upgraded 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery with an expected 2-day battery life, USB-C 100W fast charging, and 27W wired reverse charging.

Keeping the performance in check is a 5,300mm² POCO 3D Dual-layer IceLoop Cooling System.

The cameras

Not to be left behind, POCO didn't skimp on the back cameras either. This device is packed with a 50MP f/1.5 fast aperture main camera with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide shooter. The main camera can record up to 4K 60fps videos.

The phone runs on Android 16 OS with HyperOS 3.0 skin. It also has HyperConnect and HyperIsland for seamless interaction, Google Gemini and Circle to Search for instant assistance, and the debut of Ticket Purchase Mode for smoother high-demand sales.

Adding reliability, Xiaomi Offline Communication ensures calls even without a network.
