HUAWEI Pura 90 Pro Max is official: Flat frame, gradient finish, 50MP LOFIC + 40MP ultra-wide + 200MP telephoto cameras

A new top camera phone contender

The top-of-the-line camera-focused smartphone arrived in a flat frame for a seamless and stronger build, and the return of the gradient finish that changes look depending on where the light hits it.

The gradient paint job is available in Orange, Purple, and Green, while those who prefer solid colors may get it in Black or White.

For extra durability, the phone has IP68 and 69 dust and high-temp/pressure water resistance.

In front, the handset uses a next-gen Kunlun Glass-protected 6.9-inch LTPO OLED screen with adaptive refresh rate, PWM dimming, FHD+ resolution, and an anti-reflective coating.

Inside, the phone is powered by the Kirin 9030S. It also has 200% boost in image understanding, 43% upgrade in AI color engine, 110% improvement in telephoto clarity, 30% better anti-shake capability than the previous generation.

HUAWEI paired it with a large 6,000mAh battery capacity with 100W fast charging, 18W reverse wired charging, and 80W wireless charging + reverse wireless charging.

The triangle-shaped camera island continues from previous Pura designs. The main camera is a 50MP sensor with LOFIC technology, 10-stop physical variable aperture, and OIS. It is paired with a 40MP f/2.2 aperture ultra-wide camera and, for the first time, a 200MP 1/2.8-inch RYYB super-zoom periscope sensor.

Note: LOFIC (Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor) is a "cutting-edge" smartphone camera sensor technology designed to significantly improve high-dynamic-range (HDR) photography. 

This is powered by the company's self-developed XMAGE system for advanced post-processing.

HUAWEI also claims that it has an improved camera app with advanced editing and object removal tools.

It runs with HarmonyOS 6.1 skin with an integrated AI agent in a voice assistant for instant info and content generation.
