HUAWEI Pura X Max launched: World’s First Horizontal Foldable with Dual 2:1 Displays
HUAWEI introduced its new 2:1 paper-like aspect ratio foldable called the Pura X Max in China.

The new aspect ratio standard for foldables?
HUAWEI has been in the foldable phone market for years and has openly experimented with newer form factors, including wider aspect ratios. The new Pura X Max takes the wider aspect ratio, but makes it bigger.

It adopts a geometric design with a unique ceramic bezel around the camera module. It comes in either Midnight Black, Zero White, Interstellar Blue, Olive Gold, or Vibrant Orange. The phone features an aluminum alloy frame, and it measures 166.5 x 120 x 5.2mm unfolded, 85 x 120 x 11.2mm folded, and weighs 229 grams. It is IP58 and IP59 dust and water resistance rated.
The phone has a new Basalt Waterdrop hinge that increases the available space by 16 percent and improves drop resistance by 33 percent.
The outer screen is a 5.4-inch OLED panel with a 1,848 x 1,264 resolution, a 3,500 nits peak brightness, and a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The inner screen is a larger 7.7-inch OLED folding panel with a 3,000-nit peak brightness, a 2,584 x 1,828 resolution, and a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate.
The inner screen utilizes a triple composite ultra-tough layer that includes an Ultra-Thin Glass, a carbon fiber support layer, and an ultra-high molecular weight bugger layer. HUAWEI claims that this combination increases impact resistance by 50 percent and compression resistance by 20 percent.

Inside are the 7nm Kirin 9030 Pro chip, 12GB/16GB RAM, 256GB/512GB/1TB storage, and a 5,300mAh battery with 66W wired fast charging via USB-C and a 50W wireless charging.
On the cover screen is an 8MP f/2.4 selfie camera, while on the inner screen is an 8MP f/2.2 selfie camera. At the back of the phone are the 50MP f/1.4-4.0 variable aperture RYYB main camera with OIS, a 12.5MP f/2.2 RYYB ultra-wide angle camera with macro, and a 50MP f/2.2 3.5x optical Telephoto camera with OIS and LED flash.

The inner screen supports pen input with the HUAWEI M-Pen 3 Mini.
Other features include 4G LTE, WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 with BLE support, GPS L1+L5, AGPS, GLONASS, Beidou, Galileo, QZSS, NavIC, NFC, and stereo speakers.
