HONOR Play 70C launched: Helio G81 Ultra, 6.75-inch display, and 13MP rear camera

HONOR has introduced the Play 70C, a budget-oriented smartphone intended for basic usage.

The device is offered in three color options—Midnight Black, Moonlight Silver, and Ocean Blue, also listed in some markets as Ink Rock Black, Moonlit Silver, and Lake Blue. It measures 7.89mm in thickness and weighs 186 grams.

In front, the HONOR Play 70C features a 6.75-inch LCD (IPS) panel with a 1600 x 720 resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate.  The display adopts a waterdrop notch design to accommodate the front-facing camera.

The features

Inside, the smartphone is driven by the 2.0GHz 12nm MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra octa-core chipset, paired with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage.

Powering the device is a 5,300mAh battery, although the charging speed is not revealed as of this writing.

For photography, it uses a 13MP rear camera that can record 1080p video and offers up to 10x digital zoom. A 5MP front-facing camera is housed within the waterdrop notch for selfies and video calls.

On the connectivity front, the phone supports WiFi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and dual SIM. It also retains a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The handset runs Android 15 overlaid with Honor's MagicOS 9.0 out of the box.
