A new limited edition handheld

According to the company, it is a limited-edition model released in celebration of the ROG brand's 20th anniversary.

The device builds on previous Ally hardware with a redesigned chassis, upgraded internals, and a new display.

Asus is bundling the handheld with ROG Xreal R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR Glasses, positioning it as one of the company's most feature-rich portable gaming products to date.

A notable change is the switch to a 7.4-inch OLED panel, replacing the LCD screens used in earlier Ally models.

Furthermore, the screen is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus and Gorilla Glass DXC coatings, the latter intended to reduce reflections.

Inside, the ROG Xbox Ally X20 is powered by AMD's Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor with eight cores and 16 threads, integrated Radeon graphics, and an XDNA NPU capable of up to 50 TOPS of AI performance.

The handheld ships with 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. Asus has also updated the cooling system to better manage heat around the OLED panel during extended play sessions.

On the controls side, the device introduces a transformable D-pad that switches between four-way and eight-way modes, TMR joysticks for improved precision, and redesigned face buttons.

Connectivity features include WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, dual USB Type-C ports, a microSD card slot, and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.
