TECNO POVA 8 5G confirmed to launch on June 11

TECNO has officially announced a launch date for the long-anticipated POVA 8 5G.

According to the company's announcement via their official X page, the device is set to go on sale in India on June 11 at 12 PM local time.

Alongside the announcement, the company released a short teaser video offering a first look at the phone's design. 

The footage reveals a small dot-matrix display integrated into the rear camera island, as well as a transparent back panel—design choices that invite visual comparisons to Nothing's aesthetic.

Engravings on the rear panel confirm the POVA 8 5G carries an 8,000 mAh battery, matching the POVA Curve 2 and placing it among the largest batteries in Tecno's current lineup. 

The handset is expected to run on the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset, based on a previous Geekbench listing, and will be offered in 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB storage configurations.

Finally, the device will ship with Android 16 out of the box. According to FCC certification documents, it will support wired charging at speeds of up to 45W.
