DJI Mic Mini 2S launched: Compact design, noise reduction, and 28 hours of recording

DJI unveiled Mic Mini 2S, a wireless microphone aimed at creators who want a compact form factor.

Small but formidable

The standout feature is support for 32-bit float internal recording, which captures a wide dynamic range, from quiet dialogue to sudden loud noises, without clipping or distortion, giving users more flexibility during editing. 

The design

The transmitter includes 14.5GB of built-in storage, enough for up to 28 hours of loop recording, and can save files in either raw format for post-production work or pre-processed format for immediate use.

The mic and charging case

Weighing just 12 grams, the transmitter has a detachable, rotating magnetic clip and a removable front cover for easy customization. It's available in Obsidian Black and Cloud White, with additional color options and windproof covers sold separately.

Noise reduction comes in two settings: a "Weak" mode suited for indoor environments like reducing fan noise or echo, and a "Strong" mode for outdoor use against wind or traffic. Battery life runs up to 11 hours on the transmitter and 10 hours on the receiver, with the charging case extending total use to about 40 hours. Fast charging adds roughly an hour of use after just five minutes. The transmitter can also function as a standalone voice recorder.

For connectivity, a single receiver can pair with up to four transmitters, including earlier DJI models, and supports mono, stereo, or quad-track output for added editing flexibility. The system integrates with DJI devices such as the Osmo Pocket 4 and Action 6, and also connects to smartphones via Bluetooth. Transmission range extends up to 400 meters under optimal conditions.
