Next best affordable Nothing buds?
Since its original Ear (1), the brand has established its distinctive design language centered around transparent casing, visible circuitry, and minimal branding.
Nothing continues to push visual identity with the Ear (3a), taking inspiration from bubbled pill packaging and vintage synth design. While maintaining its distinctive see-through look, the new Ear (3a) introduces a rounder, softer form factor along with a head-turning new colorway.
The new earbuds feature Nothing's classic stem design with a clear outer chassis that showcases the internal magnets, microphones, and delicate wiring inside. Channel indicators remain intuitive, featuring a subtle red dot on the right earbud and a black dot on the left.
Ergonomics have been enhanced with a more contoured, ear-conforming shape and upgraded liquid silicone ear tips designed for all-day wear. To accommodate a wider range of listeners, Nothing now includes four sizes of silicone ear tips in the box, adding a new Extra Small (XS) option alongside S, M, and L.

The Earbuds carry an IP54 dust and water resistance rating and come in either White, Black, Yellow, or Pink finish.
The Charging case features softer corners with a bubble aesthetic that sits comfortably in hands or pockets. Constructed from clear, durable polycarbonate with a colored interior tray matching the earbuds, the case keeps the internal components visible while offering rugged protection.
A new feature is the 1x3 LED Status light bar that displays clear patterns for battery levels, charging process, pairing status, firmware updates, and system error alerts at a glance.
Its innovative new features include Audio Snapshot and Call recording. Audio Snapshot acts like a screenshot for sound. By pinching both stems simultaneously, it captures up to 1 minute of the currently playing audio. This includes up to 30 seconds of audio played right before the pinch trigger. Call recording is triggered when pinching both earbuds during live phone calls or voice meetings.
At the heart of the new earbuds are the 12mm Dynamic drivers. Nothing boasts that it supports up to 45dB Adaptive Wideband ANC and Static Spatial Audio. It is Hi-Res Wireless Audio certified and supports LDAC, AAC, and SBC codecs.
Around the earphones are 3-directional microphones per earbud. It has 32MB of on-board flash storage for Audio Snapshot and Call recording.
