Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 launched in PH: FlexWindow, 2nm Exynos 2600, and 50MP main camera, PHP 77,990 starting price

Apart from the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra, Samsung also unveils the Galaxy Z Flip8 in PH.

Samsung Electronics has introduced the Galaxy Z Flip8, a foldable smartphone built around quick interactions, personal expression, and AI-native features delivered through a redesigned FlexWindow.

The Galaxy Z Flip8 will be offered in Graphite, Cream, and Pink, with an online-exclusive Mint color available only through Samsung.com. 

The Flip8 carries an IP48 water resistance rating, based on Samsung's lab testing for submersion in up to 1.5 meters of freshwater for up to 30 minutes.

The hinge and bottom port

The brand also describes the Flip8 as its slimmest and lightest Flip model to date, weighing 180 grams and measuring 6.1 mm thick when unfolded.

The Flip8 features a 6.9-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display with a resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels at 400 ppi and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. 

Its cover screen is a 4.1-inch Super AMOLED display at 1,048 x 948 at 342 ppi, supporting a 60/120Hz refresh rate. 

Both screens include Vision Booster technology. Samsung says the redesigned FlexWindow now functions as an AI-native interface, bringing apps, insights and shortcuts directly to the cover screen so users can access information and connected tasks in fewer steps.

The Galaxy Z Flip8 is powered by Samsung's own 3.8GHz 2nm Exynos 2600 processor. It is available in configurations of 12GB RAM and 256GB/512GB memory.

The main display

The Flip8 carries a 4,300mAh dual battery. It supports wired charging with a 25W adapter, with Samsung citing about 55 percent charge in 30 minutes under lab conditions, along with 15W fast wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare.

The Flip8 includes a rear dual-camera system with a 50MP wide-angle camera featuring Dual Pixel autofocus and optical image stabilization, and a 12MP ultra-wide camera.

The cameras and cover display

A 10MP front-facing selfie camera is built into the main display. 

Samsung also highlights the ProVisual Engine for the Flip's selfie experience, describing improvements to portrait detail, skin tones and background blur. 

Camcorder style

The device also includes Flex Mode for hands-free shooting at various angles, a Camcorder Grip with a zoom rocker for more stable handheld video, a Super Steady mode with an added Horizontal Lock option, and a FlipShot feature for customizing the FlexWindow and capturing mirror-style selfies.

On the FlexWindow, a Now Brief panel surfaces personalized insights and next steps, while Flip8 also brings automation through Gemini Intelligence to the cover screen, allowing users to trigger connected actions via the side key or voice commands. 

Security is handled through Samsung Knox, alongside Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection and Knox Vault for sensitive data, and a new AI Assistant Activity dashboard in One UI 9 that centralizes visibility into AI automations running on the device.

The Galaxy Z Flip8 supports WiFi 7 (2.4GHz/5GHz/6GHz), 5G, 4G LTE, and Bluetooth v5.4, NFC, GPS, and dual SIM.

The updated Smart Switch feature allows iOS users to transfer data wirelessly by scanning a QR code, including passwords, passkeys, call history, and eSIM data, while Quick Share now offers two-way compatibility with Apple's AirDrop.

The Galaxy Z Flip8 ships with Android 17 and Samsung's One UI 9 software on top.
