TCL, which positions itself as the world's No. 1 panel TV brand, has launched its latest SQD Mini LED display platform in the Philippines with the new TCL C7L TV.

The C7L is built around TCL's SQD-Mini LED technology, which the company says improves on conventional local dimming by using more precise dimming zones for better contrast between bright highlights and dark shadows. 

The technology is paired with TCL's Super QLED technology and an Ultra Color Filter Panel, which the company describes as aimed at improving color accuracy, light control, and overall picture quality.

Commenting on the launch, Maxi Chen, TCL Philippines Senior Product Manager of Brownline, said: With the arrival of the SQD technology, TCL is doing far more than introducing another display upgrade. We are translating our technological leadership into a clearer, richer, and more immersive viewing experience—reinforcing our position as the global pioneer shaping the future of premium entertainment.

Display Technology

The C7L is part of what TCL calls its Precise Dimming Series, featuring what the company describes as all-domain halo control designed to reduce light bleed. This is achieved through light-emitting chips paired with micro-lenses, along with a CSOT HVA 2.0 panel and a Light and Shadow Control Algorithm that TCL says work together to improve contrast between light and dark areas of the screen.

The features

TCL also said the C7L uses a newly developed light chip that improves both peak brightness and energy efficiency compared to earlier generations, which the company says results in more accurate rendering of bright and dark scenes.

For gaming, TCL said the SQD-Mini LED technology is designed to preserve visual detail in both dark and brightly lit scenes, aiming to give players clearer visibility during gameplay.

Audio

The TV's audio system was co-developed with Bang & Olufsen, a partnership TCL says draws on decades of acoustic engineering to improve sound quality and clarity.
