New productivity notebook contender

COLORFUL Technology Company Limited, known for its work in gaming PC components, gaming laptops, and HiFi audio products, has launched the Rimbook L1 Plus in China.

The company said this is a laptop built around an AMD Ryzen processor and aimed at students, professionals, creators, and everyday users.

Display

The Rimbook L1 Plus design centers on portability without sacrificing a premium feel. It weighs 1.4kg and measures 16.65mm thick, with a matte metal top cover intended to give it a refined appearance while keeping it easy to carry.

The display is a 16-inch IPS panel with a 2560 x 1600 2.5K resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio, offering more vertical screen space than a standard 16:9 panel. 

It also features slim bezels measuring just 4mm on the sides and 3mm at the top—contributing to a 92.52% screen-to-body ratio. 

The panel runs at a 120Hz refresh rate, covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut, and reaches 300 nits of brightness.

The processor

Inside, the Rimbook L1 Plus runs on an AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS processor, with 8 cores, 16 threads, and boost clock speeds of up to 4.75GHz, paired with integrated AMD Radeon 680M graphics. 

It comes equipped with 16GB of LPDDR5-6400 memory and a 512GB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD.

Two additional PCIe Gen4 x4 M.2 slots are included, allowing users to add further storage as needed.

Power comes from a 65Wh battery, which charges via USB Type-C Power Delivery, letting users rely on a standard USB-C charger rather than a proprietary power adapter.

The laptop also ships with WPS Office pre-installed, giving users immediate access to word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation tools without needing to install separate software.
