The standard Moto Pad 70 goes official

The company describes it as an entry-level device intended to balance portability, productivity, creativity and entertainment, and is marketing it as the thinnest and lightest 5G tablet currently available. 

The WiFi variant measures 6.29mm thick, while the 5G version comes in at 6.49mm, with both weighing 530g. 

Additionally, the tablet carries an IP52 rating, offering protection against light splashes but not full submersion, and is offered in a single finish called Pantone Sea Angel.

In front, the Moto Pad 70 features a 12.1-inch LCD display with a 2.5K resolution of 2560 x 1600, 90Hz refresh rate, 800 nits peak brightness, and a DCI-P3 color gamut. 

Powering the tablet is a 2.5GHz 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Buyers can choose between 128GB and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, with a microSD slot available for expansion up to 2TB.

A 10,200mAh battery is on board, and Motorola bundles a 68W USB-C charger with the device.

Meanwhile, the rear camera features a 13MP sensor while the front has 8MP for selfies or video calls.

On the audio front, the device includes four speakers with Dolby Atmos support.

In terms of additional features, the tablet ships with the Moto Pen, which offers 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity, tilt detection and palm rejection.

Motorola is also offering an optional magnetic keyboard cover that attaches via pogo pins for those seeking a physical typing setup. 

The device also supports Smart Connect, a Motorola feature that enables file sharing and screen mirroring with Windows PCs and Motorola smartphones.

On the connectivity side, the Moto Pad 70 supports WiFi 5 (2.4 GHz/5 GHz), 5G networks, and Bluetooth 5.4.

The tablet runs Android 16 out of the box, with Motorola committing to two major OS upgrades—bringing it up to Android 18—along with security updates through 2030.
