Lifestyle meets tech

Packard Bell, a brand owned by the Acer Group, unveiled a broad relaunch at IFA 2026, marking its 100th anniversary with a new visual identity, a marketing tagline of "Tech it easy," and a new lineup of consumer electronics.

The centerpiece of the new collection is a 14.5-inch laptop called the DotBook, which is scheduled to reach European retailers starting in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Packard Bell was founded in Los Angeles in 1926 and built its early reputation on consumer radios before moving into color televisions and, later, personal computers. The company says its relaunch is meant to return to that original focus on making technology accessible to a broad market rather than a niche one.

Valerie Piau, EMEA vice president at Acer Europe SA, said the anniversary was an opportunity to refocus on affordability and simplicity, framing the "Tech it easy" tagline as shorthand for that approach.

New branding

The company's updated logo is built around a dot motif, with a pattern of dots forming an abstract "P" and "B." According to the company, the design is intended to evoke a more human, less technical aesthetic than the pixel-based branding common in the electronics industry.

The rebrand also introduces a four-color palette—orange, purple, green, and yellow—used across marketing materials and product packaging, along with a shift toward less technical, more conversational marketing language. The company said it plans to build visibility for the new brand primarily through digital marketing channels.

Product Lineup

Alongside the DotBook laptop, Packard Bell is introducing several other devices as part of its initial product wave:
  • DotLoop - a portable, suitcase-style vinyl turntable
  • DotTune - a home speaker
  • DotLine - a 4G feature phone marketed toward families and users seeking reduced smartphone use
  • DotLook - audio glasses designed to handle music and calls without earbuds or a screen
  • DotShine - a ring light aimed at content creators
  • DotCombo - a keyboard-and-mouse set
  • DotBass - a pair of headphones offered in colors intended to match other products in the lineup

The company also announced a partnership with Steasy, a startup that makes a connected mini garment steamer, extending the Packard Bell brand into home appliances. The first product from that partnership is expected in Europe in the fourth quarter of 2026, with additional products planned through 2027.
