FUJIFILM Instax Pal 2 launches in the Philippines: 10MP 1/3.06-inch CMOS sensor, 28mm equivalent lens, and PHP 10,599 SRP

FUJIFILM introduced the new Instax Pal 2 in the Philippines, building on the massive success of the original palm-sized digital camera released in 2023.

Super small camera

New nostalgic pocket-sized camera

The upgraded Instax Pal 2 offers a retro, analog-inspired aesthetic along with enhanced hardware and playful software features designed to make capturing and sharing memories more interactive.

Alongside the Instax Pal 2, FUJIFILM introduced the Instax Link Wide 2 smartphone printer. This gives local content creators, photography enthusiasts, and casual snapshooters a comprehensive ecosystem for shooting, editing, and printing physical memories.

Moving away from the ultra-minimalist, ball-like shape of its predecessor, the Instax Pal 2 adopts a more refined, rectangular design reminiscent of classic analog cameras. It is compact enough to fit comfortably in the palm of your hand or slip into a pocket, making it an ideal everyday carry.

A significant physical upgrade is the addition of a built-in optical viewfinder, along with a compact 1-inch LCD screen positioned on top of the device. This allows users to easily frame their shots and review captures on the go. Additionally, the camera features a physical command dial for cycling through effects, a mode-switching lever, and a clever slide-out USB-C port that accommodates both rapid data transfers and device charging. It also includes an Angle Adjustment mechanism that doubles as a convenient stand for remote shooting.

Beneath its playful exterior, the Instax Pal 2 boasts several improvements for enhanced image clarity. It is equipped with a 1/3.06-inch CMOS sensor that offers 10-megapixel resolution, with the option to switch to 1MP depending on the desired effect.

Staying true to the Instax spirit, the Pal 2 introduces several new features, including:

• Instax Animation Mode: By pressing and holding down the shutter button, the camera records up to 10 consecutive frames. These bursts are saved as an Instax Animation, creating a nostalgic, flipbook-style motion graphic viewable inside the companion app.
• Multi-Format Versatility: Photos taken with the Pal 2 are compatible with major Instax film formats, including Mini, Square, and Wide, and a frameless 4:3 digital crop.
• Physical Frame Toggle - Using the lever on top of the camera, users can instantly toggle whether their digital captures come framed with classic Instax borders or shot edge-to-edge.

The device comes equipped with 30 unique visual effects, organized into five major themes: Modern, Y2K, Vintage, Chromatic, and Fantasy. Users can choose up to six favorite effects to load directly onto the camera's hardware dial.

Additionally, users can utilize their smartphone as a viewfinder through the app, which also serves as a remote trigger.
