The next chip to beat? Over the years, Huawei proved the world that they can produce their own good processors without the need of relying to other chip makers. As a matter of fact, Huawei had the fastest chip the world crown even for a short time with Mate 8's HiSilicon Kirin 950 octa core processor. Today, the Kirin 960 SoC found with the new Mate 9 ranks among the very best in the world.

Is Huawei's upcoming Kirin 970 the chip to beat?

Today, we gathered some info, that Huawei is gearing up for the release of the upcoming Kirin 970 processor. Reports are saying that it'll come with a 10 nm FinFET manufacturing process with a combination of four Cortex-A73 and four Cortex-A53 cores.

What caught our attention is the low-performance Cortex-A53 cluster is said to have a speedy clock speed of 3.0 GHz! Other rumors states that it'll have Cat 12 LTE support and might feature a higher clocked Mali G71 GPU.

It's designed to compete with the likes of Snapdragon 830 and MediaTek Helio X30 in speed, performance, and efficiency. 

The Huawei Kirin 970 SoC is expected arrive early next year at some of their latest devices this February 27 at the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona Spain.

Huawei P10 anyone?
