Smart Communications, Inc. has deployed more next generation LTE-A (LTE advanced) base stations in Metro Manila, Metro Cebu, and Metro Davao recently. It's a part of the on-going modernization program by PLDT which aims to blanket the country with LTE connectivity before the end of 2018.
Smart LTE-A service
It's the company's ultra-fast mobile internet service with speed that can reach up to 100 Mbps as long as you have an LTE-A ready device. Speeds like this can let your quickly download big files, stream movies, and even play online games with ease.
For now, LTE-A capable devices include most modern high-end smartphones from Apple, Samsung, and Huawei, among others.
“We continue to set the bar higher for our mobile service experience with our LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) service, which is the next stage of development for 4G/LTE,” said Joachim Horn, PLDT and Smart chief technology and information advisor. “Now is the right time to take advantage of LTE-A, because there are already handsets available in the market,” Horn said.
