In our ZenFone 4 Max review, we didn't like the drop in quality from the ZenFone 3 Max 5.2 so we wanted to find out if the new Max Plus M1 makes a comeback!

For the camera app, ASUS has significantly changed the UI from earlier versions. It is now cleaner, and well labeled.
That works for both the main cameras and the selfie camera.
Here's our first few shots!

So far, the ASUS ZenFone Max Plus M1 produces images with mixed quality. The main camera and the selfie cameras perform well in daylight or well lit situations with images have acceptable sharpness, good color saturation, good contrast and accurate white balance.
The wide angle camera of the ZenFone Max Plus M1 is significantly less noisier than the wide angle camera from the original ZenFone 4 Max. The field of view is also crazy wide.
ASUS may need to tweak the software even further to be able get the most out of the main cameras for low light.
The selfie camera performs even better in low light. It doesn't have the high resolution (sharpness) of the V7 or V7 Plus but it is able to take pictures in challenging conditions while the main camera fails in low light.
The low light images from the main camera are soft and tend to take pictures at longer shutter speeds but without an EIS or OIS, the images are prone to motion blur and light trails.
As of this writing the price of the ZenFone Max Plus M1 is yet to be announced.
