MediaTek Helio P22 launched, a mid-range chip with AI built on 12 nm process

MediaTek just announced the Helio P22 chipset. It's a new mid-range chipset built under the 12 nm FinFET process by TSMC.

The new chipset by MediaTek boasts a 64-bit octa-core Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 2.0GHz. It also has IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU, up to 6GB RAM support,  dual cameras up to 13MP + 8MP with real time bokeh preview, 30 fps video recording, and 1600 x 720 resolution support up to 20:9 screen ratio.

Helio P22 also has dual 4G LTE connectivity, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0 support, GPS, and GLONASS.

It also has support for AI frameworks like TensorFlow, TF Lite, Caffe and Caffe2, and auto-select function for the best available AI resource for developer efficiency.

It also has AI Face ID (Face Unlock) and AI Smart Photo Album.

According to MediaTek, the Helio P22 will be available in consumer devices by the end of June.

Meanwhile in PH, the Vivo Y85 with the same SoC already has it.
