TCL says it has sold 100 million air conditioners in five years

TCL second among China's air conditioner exporters

TCL Air Conditioner said it has sold 100 million air conditioners over five years and is China’s No. 2 air conditioner exporter.

According to Industry Online data cited by the company, TCL's production and sales volume reached 22 million units in 2025, and it posted the highest growth rate among the top three exporters.

TCL said it ranks first in air conditioner shipments in the Philippines, Argentina, Panama and Algeria, and second in the United States, Brazil, Italy, Spain, Nigeria and South Korea.

It also said it ranks first globally in fresh air conditioner sales, with products exported to more than 100 countries.

TCL said it is among the few companies in China capable of independently developing inverter controllers. The company added that it also develops and manufactures key residential air conditioner components in-house, supported by its own compressor factory.

According to the company, its Smart Blue Wing tech engine powers a whole-house air solution anchored by 11 technologies. It also described a full-link AI architecture, spanning perception, cognition, decision, and service, that senses human movement, airflow, and air quality and automatically optimizes the home environment.

TCL highlighted four innovations. AI SleepEye uses millimeter-wave radar and genetic algorithms to detect sleep movement and build personalized cooling curves. AI Human Sensor tracks body position to adjust airflow, gentler when the user is close and stronger when farther away.

AI Healthy Fresh Air monitors indoor air quality in real time and completes whole-house air exchanges without opening windows. Smart Gentle Breeze diffuses harsh cold drafts into softer airflow.

TCL said it translates the technologies into three product series: AI Healthy Fresh Air, AI Healthy Comfort and AI Energy-Saving. The company said they correspond to family respiratory health, whole-house comfort, and daily operating cost.

At its Guangzhou Smart Manufacturing Base, TCL said production lines roll out an air conditioner every seven seconds. An AI Data Supercomputing Center supports the lines, with a computing capacity of 30 quadrillion operations per second. They collect data from 17,000 IoT sensors across the factory and meet the real-time computing demands of more than 2,000 AI agents, TCL said.

The base also houses what TCL described as the industry’s only AI-powered ultra-high-precision heat exchanger production line. There, AI algorithms enable fully automated, robotic-arm production of evaporators and condensers, including stamping, punching and swelling, improving labor efficiency by 41.7%, according to TCL. Three fully flexible lights-out factories enable 24-hour unmanned production across the heat exchanger, piping and injection molding workshops.
